Privacy Policy

Clariva is a personal mood check-in, journaling, and self-reflection app. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or medical advice. For privacy requests, contact taraschuiko@gmail.com.

Information Clariva processes

• Account: Firebase user ID, email, account dates, and display name or profile photo when returned by Google or Apple sign-in.
• Content: mood, energy, sleep, journal text, optional AI context, generated reflections and weekly reports.
• Eligibility and settings: a 13+ acknowledgement version and timestamp (not a birth date), language, timezone, AI consent, reminders, and notification tokens when enabled.
• AI reports: the reported AI output, source metadata, selected reason, optional details, app/platform version, timestamps, and moderation status.
• Subscriptions: Firebase-UID-based RevenueCat App User ID, product, store, status, paid-through date, and usage counters. Apple and Google process payment credentials; Clariva does not receive card details.

Purposes and providers

Clariva uses Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, storage, and server functions; RevenueCat for subscription management; Apple and Google for store billing; and Expo push delivery when reminders are enabled.

Google Gemini processes relevant journal text, check-in context, optional AI context, or weekly inputs only after you grant in-app AI processing permission and explicitly request an AI feature. Clariva does not continuously analyze text while you type. Provider handling, retention, and use are governed by the applicable Google service terms and configuration; Clariva does not make an absolute promise that a provider retains no data or never uses data beyond those terms.

AI consent can be declined or revoked without losing non-AI check-ins, journaling, history, export, deletion, or subscription management.

Storage, security, and retention

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Firebase under your authenticated user ID. Firestore rules isolate user records, while AI results, moderation reports, usage, and subscription entitlement changes are server-controlled. Data remains while your account exists or as required for security, legal, fraud-prevention, and payment obligations. Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, and Expo may retain records under their own terms.

Your choices

• Export profile, check-ins, AI analyses, weekly reports, and AI reports from Profile → Privacy.
• Delete your account and associated Clariva content in the app.
• If the app is uninstalled, use the public account-deletion page.
• Manage or cancel a subscription through Apple or Google. Deleting Clariva data does not itself cancel a store subscription.

Children

Clariva is for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child under 13 used Clariva.
